Telematic Systems and their Strategic Role in Distance Training

JULIAN PAVON

Abstract

This paper deals with the importance of training for employees and companies. Telematic and Multimedia are important ways of imparting training. Education has been traditionally conceived as a process aimed at preparing a person for his/her career and helping him/her to get adapted to social changes. The European Parliament has recently declared the need of widening the training programmes including a complete development of the individual's personality and letting him/her analyze and evaluate critically hidher social and cultural environment.

A serious economic pressure makes it increasingly necessary to find new methods for achieving a higher degree of competitiveness in world markets and allowing companies to fully exploit their capacities. According to this perspective, postgraduate training becomes a strategic element coherent with training needs for companies, as this will have a decisive influence on economic strategies.

The Centre for Business Administration Postgraduate Studies (CEPADE) encourages relations between universities and companies. They integrate different multimedia teaching methods to improve academic activities in distance training.
