Distance Learners' Call for Conventional Ways of Teaching
J.S. Mirza
Abstract
A survey conducted in early 1997 of distance learners at the Open
University Hong Kong to gauge their level of comfortability with distance-learningstyled tutorials delivered in F2F mode. It transpired that students desire to be taught with old time-honoured ways of teaching, i.e, conventional lecturing and conventional tutorial, rather than through purely interactive F2F tutorials. The results of the survey are presented and the reasons that may possible have given to this attitude are explored.
