Counselling is a complex activity; and in Distance Education, it is very important for the success of the system. This paperpresents the results of a survey amongst academic counsellors of lGNOU Regional Centre, Cochin, India, to ascertain their awareness about instructional concepts of Distance Education and-Counselling practices. The study reveals that academic counsellors need training to be effective and make Distance Education a success.
