Attitude of the Working Engineers Towards Distance Mode of Instruction

The psyche of the learner' considerably influences the process of learning. Formal education follows numerous strategies to impart education to the learners. Engineering education in our country follows a direct mode of instruction-transaction. However, some Indian universities have started affiliating engineering degree programmes through their off-campus collaborative learning centres. The present paper explores the attitude and feelings of working engineers, pursuing further education since the last couple of years through the distance mode, towards the mode of instruction and allied issues. Relevance of the distance mode of instruction in technical education is analyzed in the penultimate section of the paper.
