Creation of a Flexible Learning Environment Through the Use of Online Distributed Video and Supported by Asynchronous Discussion

Abstract
This paper reports on how the learning of a multimedia subject can be enhanced by using computer-mediated technology. Two forms of online distributed videos were employed alongside with asynchronous online conferencing to create a collaborative environment for student-centred flexible learning. Relevant pedagogical theories supporting this learning environment were discussed and the method used to analyse students' online collaborative learning was also described.
Based on an evaluative survey, this paper also presents students' feedback and comments on the effectiveness of the enriched learning environment.
