The Paradigm Shift in Distance Education and its Meaning for Teacher Training

Abstract


A paradigm shift has been witnessed in the learning-teaching process. This includes new ways of pedagogical thinking, post-modern curricula, digital learning, changed social interactions, linear and lateral thinking, etc. These changes require reorganisation of the educational system in general and distance education in particular. This paper highlights various changes taking place in the system and suggests the measures to effectively cope up with these changes.
