The Near and Distant Future of Educational Culture: New Kinds of "Book", Porous Knowledge Domains, and New Uses of Language

Abstract


This paper suggests that three technologies, some as yet untried by most people, are slowly but surely having a major impact on educational practice. Some effects are quite evident today, but others may not be fully apparent for a generation or more. Although they are at first sight apparently unrelated, they are very likely to blend and evolve new paradigms of knowledge and education.
