Abstract

This study is an analysis of variables that influence the second language acquisition of English in the ODL mode. It studies the interplay between various social and psychological factors at work behind the learning of English. Teaching-learning a skill-based subject such as English is fraught with various difficulties and the end result is not usually given the attention that it deserves. It is imperative to have a strong body of research that looks into the profile of the distance learner.
