ResearchMate: A Unique App for the Research Scholars of the ODL system

Abstract

A mobile app is a computer program that is specifically designed for mobile devices. Apps are being used for a variety of purposes such as games, emails, weather, location, calendar, payment etc. Apps are usually developed and uploaded in an app store for consumers to download and access. As of March 2017, there were 2.8 million apps available at Google Play Store and 2.2 million apps in the Apple’s App Store (Statista, 2018b). All these developments have made the mobile app a powerful tool for information and communication.
