Workshop cum Training for Private Secretaries

Abstract

Indira Gandhi National Open University is one of the mega universities of the world. The support staff of IGNOU plays a vital role for its smooth and effective functioning. Private Secretary is a position in which most of the employees at IGNOU have come through promotion. Staff Training and Research Institute of Distance Education (STRIDE) conducts regular training progammes for the employees of the university. The demand for this workshop was raised by the concerned sector and it was apprised to the Competent Authority, it was decided that at STRIDE would conduct a workshop for Private Secretaries. This would be a new cadre to cater to for the trainings. It was decided that at the initial stage the Private Secretary cadre placed at IGNOU Headquarters may be trained. The workshop was aimed to help in improving efficiency of the staff; they need to be provided with necessary skills and competencies for providing efficient services in the Open and Distance Learning system in a time bound manner.
