Abstract

ODL system is characterised by flexibility and innovation enabling different groups of learners to study according to their differing needs. Accordingly, various ODL institutions have developed their own Best Practices to meet the needs of their learners. This subjectivity makes the ODL system and its practices flexible and dynamic, allowing the ODL institutions to incorporate Best Practices in their systems. It is very important that the institutional Best Practices are identified, deliberated upon and shared among various functioning units of the institution and if deemed suitable these Best Practices may be adopted by other functioning
units after due customisation.
