Teaching Excellence in Higher Education

Abstract

Teaching is at the heart of the educational process and has always been a core theme. Several thinkers have focused on the importance of teaching in higher education institutions which are seen as being responsible for the education of competent professionals and providing quality to student learning experiences. This special issue gathers a number of articles on this theme. Together these articles illustrate the breadth of current concerns, debate and research on this  topic. Like all good writing, “Teaching Excellence in Higher Education” expands and renews our immediate experience of this crucial dimension of the profession, whatever that immediate experience has been.
