Abstract

This paper discusses the advantages of online teaching over face-to-face teaching during Covid times as perceived by primary school teachers of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. A questionnaire was administered on 40 primary school teachers for the purpose of data collection. Results of the study revealed that online teaching was found better than face-to-face teaching in terms of saving
travelling cost, flexibility in location, environment friendly (less use of paper), etc. by majority of teachers. The analysis of few open-ended questions showed that more classroom management skills, training on using MS word, PPT, video conferencing, and on online networking softwares and apps are required for a primary school teacher for smooth functioning of online teaching.
