A Study on the Health Impact on Students of Age 9-17 Years due to Online Classes during Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared Covid19 as a pandemic that has posed a contemporary threat to humanity.  While social distancing is a crucial measure for containing the virus spread, students are affected due to the measures with the lack of access to regular classroom schooling, limited opportunities for socializing, and restricted recreation facilities (UN 2020). In spite of all the achievements made in the e-learning, there are certain disadvantages of online learning that needs attention. Health problems are cropping up as the screen time increases for the students. This study mainly focuses on the health impact on students in the age group of 9-17 years due to online classes during Covid-19 pandemic.  This study is descriptive and analytical in design, primarily with quantitative approach. The sampling method used for primary data collection was convenience sampling and questionnaire was administered to 50 students who belonged to the age group of 9-17 years. The results have been interpreted accordingly.
