A Study to Find Out Who Among the Youth in India Take Admission into Distance Education Programmes and with What Aspirations?

This research is based on primary data from 306 respondents. The purpose of the study was to establish the socioeconomic profile of students enrolled in distance education. The study’s main purpose is to figure out who among the youth enrolls in distance education programmes and for what reasons. In the discussion section, we look at the aims of low-income students using literature, and we try to come to a conclusion on how to help them achieve their goals. Second, the research looks at and emphasises the necessity of youth empowerment in order for them to participate effectively in decision-making processes. The third point of contention is knowledge; if it is effectively disseminated and made available to everybody, it provides the best opportunity for people to advance and battle poverty. To summarise, Open and Distance Learning (ODL) is confronted with the challenge of being more than a vehicle for expanding an educational system.
