Placement Support Services in Tamil Nadu Open University: An Analysis

Abstract

The Tamil Nadu Open University in Chennai has established a Student Placement Cell to organise job fairs and aid students with job placement. There are two online short-term employment skilling programmes offered to help trainees find work. Throughout 2019, the Student Placement Cell sponsored two job fairs. A total of 1110 students benefited from the job fairs. It is the first time the Open University has held such job fairs for its students. In this paper, we look at the Tamil Nadu Open University’s job fair in Chennai, India, in order to analyse it.
