3-Day Workshop on Student Evaluation in Open and Distance Learning

Abstract

Evaluation is an integral component of any educational system. Evaluation helps to examine the extent to which the educational objectives as stipulated in the programme have been achieved. Evaluation is necessary to improve the quality of learning as it helps to understand whether learning has taken place. The purpose of evaluation is to stimulate learning amongst the students while at the same time give teachers’ information about the effectiveness of their teaching. Evaluation also gives learners an opportunity to obtain feedback about their learning and make changes to improve their performance.
