After the special issue on the theme “Needs Assessment Studies in ODL”, in September 2013, we now bring forth the present issue which deals with different areas pertaining to open and distance learning. This issue is a combined one of January and May 2014 and carries five papers covering very significant concerns of ODL. The coverage of topics includes affect of learners performance by factors such as age, gender, employment status, marital status etc., student support services in Open Universities; ICTs used in selected business schools in ODL institutions; perception of learners towards self-learning material and relationship between academic achievement and socio-economic status, study habits and attitude towards distance learning.
